Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4 billion, and you can be sure that they’re going to do everything they can to get their money’s worth.

By now, everyone knows that Disney is planning to make a post-Return of the Jedi trilogy. But did you also know that Disney is also planning on supplementing the trilogy with a ton of Star Wars spinoffs? (And by “ton”, I mean three or four spinoffs within the next five or six years.)

A Yoda spinoff? Yep, that’s in the works. A Han Solo origin story spinoff? Yep, that’s in the works too. A Boba Fett spinoff? Of course. Why not?

No word yet on who will play the young Han Solo, but we do know that the spinoffs will be written by Simon Kinberg (Mr. and Mrs Smith, Sherlock Holmes) and Lawrence Kasdan (who wrote The Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark). The first film of the new trilogy, meanwhile, will be written by Michael Ardent (Toy Story 3) and directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek).
