There’s still a month to go before Les Misérables is screened for the general public, but that hasn’t stopped it from taking the place of Argo and Lincoln (movies that the public has seen and loved) as the movie that pundits swear up and down will win the best picture Oscar. Yes, early word of mouth is that strong.
Here’s the latest trailer. With its sweeping scope and heart-wrenching depiction of child poverty, it certainly looks like best picture material. But will the Academy be willing to give another trophy to a Tom Hooper production just two years after his previous film, The King’s Speech, took home the award?
