The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln doesn’t come out until Sept. 13th. Until then, here’s the trailer for the trailer, which features a few shots of Daniel Day-Lewis’ back accompanied by David Oyelowo reading from the Gettysburg Address. Why an apparently minor character reads the Gettysburg Address and not Lincoln himself is unclear. Perhaps Spielberg didn’t do as much research on this one as he should have.

Immediately following the trailer’s debut, Spielberg and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be doing a Google Hangout to answer questions about it. Yes, you read that properly: Steven Spielberg will be doing a Q&A for a movie trailer. That’s the sort of world we live in now.
